Dolores Hart was a famous Hollywood movie star from 1947 to 1963. In 1964, the 25-year-old actress gave up everything and became a Roman Catholic nun at the Benedictine Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlemhem, Connecticut. Many years later, she said,

“The fact is, there is a promise given in a [call to the religious life] that is beyond anything in your wildest dreams. There’s a gift the Lord offers, and he is a gentleman.”
